Do you trust your intuition?

Affirmation: I trust my intuition to guide me with clarity and wisdom. I honor the quiet voice within and confidently follow its lead.

The journey through the Seven Doors begins with learning to trust your intuition. When Inanna embarked on her descent into the underworld, the reason was unclear—even to her. The ancient translation states that "she set her ear to the underworld," another  way of saying she heard a calling.

After working with 100’s of women, I've come to believe that self-awareness, intuition, and discernment work together to help us make the best decisions. When women learn to stop questioning that inner voice, magical transformation can happen.

What Is Intuition?

Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately without conscious reasoning. It often presents as a gut feeling or an inner knowing that can guide our decisions—if we listen. Have you ever ignored your intuition and later regretted it? Most people have experienced some form of intuition, whether sensing someone staring at them, feeling sudden unease, or thinking of someone just before they call.

But intuition isn’t just one thing; it comes in different forms.

Three Types of Intuition

In Heart Intelligence: Connecting with the Heart’s Intuitive Guidance for Effective Choices and Solutions, Rollin McCraty of the HeartMath Institute identifies three types of intuition:

1. Implicit Memory Intuition

This type of intuition develops through experience and expertise. It allows for quick decision-making based on deeply ingrained knowledge. Examples include:

  • An athlete making a split-second move.

  • A musician improvising effortlessly.

  • A law enforcement officer detecting deception.

  • A healthcare worker sensing when a patient is near death.

A related phenomenon is the sudden "aha" moment—insight that emerges when we step away from a problem, like when Einstein conceptualized relativity in a dream.

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift." — Albert Einstein

2. Energetic Sensitivity

This form of intuition is deeply connected to our energetic field. Everything is energy, and we are constantly receiving signals from the world around us. Scientific studies show that:

  • The heart generates an electromagnetic field extending at least four feet beyond the body.

  • The brain’s electromagnetic field is smaller but still significant.

  • The heart sends twice as many signals to the brain as the brain sends to the heart.

  • Memory neurons exist not only in the brain but also in the heart and gut.

This explains why we "feel" things in our hearts or "trust our gut."

Examples include:

  • Thinking of someone moments before they walk by.

  • Feeling a sense of foreboding before an event.

  • A mother instinctively knowing something is wrong with her child.

3. Nonlocal Intuition

This is the most mysterious form of intuition—insights into future events, telepathy, and remote viewing. It includes experiences such as:

  • Premonitions about future events.

  • Sensing danger before it occurs.

  • Telepathic connections between loved ones.

The "Clairs": How We Receive Intuitive Information

We all have unique ways we receive intuitive information.  I receive information mostly through knowing - Claircognizance, sometimes through seeing - Clairvoyance, and less frequently through hearing - Clairaudience.  What’s your Clair?

  • Clairvoyance (Clear Seeing): Visions, symbols, or mental images.

  • Clairaudience (Clear Hearing): Messages through inner or external sounds.

  • Clairsentience (Clear Feeling): Empaths who sense emotions or physical sensations.

  • Claircognizance (Clear Knowing): Sudden, unquestionable knowing.

  • Clairgustance (Clear Tasting): Tasting something without a physical source.

  • Clairalience (Clear Smelling): Smelling scents without a physical source.

Strengthening Your Intuition

Want to cultivate your intuitive abilities? Here are some practices:

  • Mindfulness & Meditation: Being present increases intuitive awareness.

  • Solitude & Digital Detox: Reduce distractions to hear your inner voice.

  • Trust Your Gut & Heart: Act on your inner nudges.

  • Body Awareness: Pay attention to physical sensations as signals.

  • Journaling: Reflect on intuitive experiences to recognize patterns.

  • Divination Tools: Tarot and oracle decks can offer insights beyond logic.

Final Thoughts

What if you could trust your intuition with certainty? Imagine having an internal barometer guiding you toward clarity and confidence.  Your intuition is like a muscle, it will atrophy without regular use - or it’s something you can develop and strengthen.

As you start your journey through your own Seven Doors of self discovery, your intuition will serve you by helping you discern what is right for you and help keep you focused on your true north.
